Employment Development Officer

About the role

Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) runs Packforce, its Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) in Wetherill Park, NSW, which provides ongoing work for people with a disability. The Employment Development Officer (EDO) role combines hands-on training and support of supported employees with office administration. On-the-job training is provided, though transferable skills and a can-do attitude are needed.

Key responsibilities

• Guide new supported employees through application and onboarding
• Gather initial production competency levels to help with wage assessments after the first 12 weeks, and deliver related work competency training
• Work with the Business Development Manager and Site Manager to attract and recruit supported employees by engaging with special development schools and attending expos
• Skill and educate Packforce DSPs on clients' learning journeys, changing client behaviour profiles, and onboarding and updating skill profiles

Required profile

• Commitment to making a real difference in the lives of people with disability
• Ability to adapt to changing daily priorities and adjust language and listening to the needs of people with disability
• Demonstrated experience as an active team member and experience training others
• Problem-solving ability and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Intermediate computer skills
• NSW driver's licence (minimum P2)
• NDIS worker screening check, WWCC, police check and current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain them before starting
