Aged Care Social Visitor Volunteer
HammondCare Volunteers · Wetherill Park
Job description
About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to spend a relaxed, meaningful hour with an elderly person who enjoys connecting with others. Visits are unhurried moments of companionship, where conversation flows easily and presence matters.
Key responsibilities
- Spend one hour with an elderly client, such as a lady who enjoys reading, listening to music and chatting.
- Share stories, reminisce about songs and listen to music while sitting together.
- Bring a little brightness into someone's day and help reduce isolation through regular visits.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for lunch-time visits, Monday to Sunday, between 9am and 5pm; visits can be weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.
To apply, express interest online; the team will contact you by phone or text, or follow up by email, and can be reached by the Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator for questions.
