Employment Consultant – Inclusive Employment Australia Program

About the role

The Employment Consultant will join APM’s Inclusive Employment Australia program in Launceston, Tasmania. You will work directly with participants facing barriers such as disability, injury, or long‑term unemployment, helping them become job‑ready and securing sustainable employment opportunities. This dual‑focused role blends people support with proactive employer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with participants to understand their career goals and develop personalised employment plans.
• Coach participants on resume writing, interview techniques, job‑search strategies and facilitate access to training or upskilling.
• Actively market candidates to local employers through cold calls, visits and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of employer contacts, identifying hidden job opportunities and negotiating job trials, work‑experience placements and wage subsidies.
• Track participant progress, manage compliance documentation and ensure data entry aligns with program requirements.
• Achieve and exceed KPI targets for placements, engagement and activity levels.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting people with disability and a strong commitment to inclusive employment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both participants and employers.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to balance supportive coaching with proactive business development.
