About the role
The Emergency Registrar position is based in one of Melbourne’s busiest Emergency Departments, handling around 90,000 patients each year. The role starts in August 2025 and runs through February 2026, offering exposure to a wide range of clinical rotations and a dedicated Short Stay Unit.
Key responsibilities
- Provide acute medical care to adult and paediatric patients in a high‑volume ED.
- Rotate through the Short Stay Unit and Fast Track area to develop procedural competence.
- Participate in the paediatric emergency logbook and contribute to the PEM training stream.
- Collaborate with Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, Nurse Practitioners, and senior doctors.
- Engage in educational activities linked to the ACEM and RACP training programs.
Required profile
- PGY4 or higher with an MBBS (or equivalent) enabling registration with AHPRA.
- Current medical registration from a comparable authority (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia).
- Commitment to completing paediatric and PEM training requirements.
