Electronics Technician

About the role

The Electronics Technician will maintain and support advanced maritime and defence systems for the Royal Australian Navy, ensuring reliability and readiness for critical survey and environmental assessment missions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support a range of maritime technologies including Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, hydrographic survey systems, communications equipment and IT infrastructure.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, testing and system inspections to maximise equipment availability.
• Contribute to configuration management, software/hardware updates, cyber‑hardening activities and maintain technical documentation and Objective Quality Evidence.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and Defence customers to resolve technical issues and coordinate maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Experienced in electronics, communications, field service or technical maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose faults, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on electronic, communications or IT‑based systems.
• Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders and compliance documentation.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
