Electrical/Mechanical Technician – Port Solutions

About the role
Konecranes is seeking a hands‑on technician to support a portfolio of cranes and heavy‑lifting equipment for major customers across New South Wales. You will work on‑site delivering diagnostics, emergency breakdown response, repairs, upgrades and modernisation projects.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, service and maintain cranes of multiple makes and models.
- Respond to breakdowns and perform fast, effective emergency repairs.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, retrofit, installation and commissioning work.
- Diagnose complex faults and provide safe engineering solutions.
- Lead and support major repair and modernisation projects on‑site.
- Prepare quotes and recommendations for significant repairs and upgrades.
- Communicate clearly with customers, providing updates and service excellence.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team capability.
- Manage job documentation, safety reporting and daily service reviews.
Required profile
- Strong electrical or mechanical trade background; experience with cranes or heavy equipment is highly regarded.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and work independently.
- Strong customer focus and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Current and valid driver’s licence; willingness to travel as required.
- Working at Heights competency; Elevated Work Platform ticket preferred.
Required skills
- Electrical Licence or Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, retrofit, installation and commissioning.
- Experience diagnosing faults and delivering engineering solutions.
- Competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and ISO 14001/45001 safety standards.
- Familiarity with Konecranes and Demag service products and field modernisation solutions.
