Electrical Technician - Road Assets

About the role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral and Johnson Controls in partnership with Transport for NSW, manages the Harbour Zone road assets. It is looking for an Electrical Technician in Rockdale to carry out planned maintenance, major and minor upgrades, fault finding, incident response and repairs on traffic control signals, variable message signs, traffic monitoring units, variable speed limit signs, school signs and street lighting. On-site training is provided, and you will work in pairs with occasional solo work.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and repair TfNSW roadside devices and equipment, keeping records and schedules up to date
• Ensure compliance with safety policy and environmental standards, and manage timekeeping for individuals and work teams
• Manage your own and small works team's daily tasks and lead daily work
• Address asset faults, incidents and customer complaints, and investigate and repair electronic devices
• Liaise with stakeholders and work with internal and external staff

Required profile

• Valid NSW supervisor or contractor electrical licence
• Current valid driver's licence
• General Construction Induction Card
• Desirable: authorised traffic controller, communications cabling and fibre accreditations, High Risk Work licence (WP), Safe Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR/LVRPLC and networking certificates, EWP and MR truck licences

Work schedule

• Two weeks day shift (6am-2pm), one week afternoon shift (2pm-10pm), one week night shift (10pm-6am) on a 16-week rotating roster
• Six weekends on call for 24 hours, including generator connect/disconnects and emergency response; extra allowance for weekend callouts
