Electrical Planner - FIFO

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for an Electrical Planner to join its Maintenance Planning & Engineering (MP&E) team, which develops high-quality, executable work packs supporting safe and reliable asset performance. The role suits a safety-focused, detail-oriented and collaborative planner who wants to optimise maintenance outcomes and fleet reliability. It is a 5:2 / 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth to Cape Lambert Operations, reporting to the Superintendent Planning.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and validate notifications and work requests to capture electrical maintenance requirements
• Plan maintenance activities so work is executed safely, efficiently and in line with asset strategies
• Develop detailed work packs, including job plans, task lists and sequencing for electrical equipment
• Review and improve maintenance strategies and task lists
• Provide scheduling inputs to optimise fleet availability, minimise downtime and maximise utilisation
• Coordinate labour, parts, tooling and external services for maintenance execution
• Complete post-execution reviews and maintain accurate SAP/CMMS records

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance planning and/or scheduling in electrical environments
• Trade qualification in electrical or instrumentation
• Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Ability to build working relationships with stakeholders across maintenance, engineering and operations
• Current C-Class driver's licence (manual)

Required skills

• Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, component lifecycles and failure modes (desirable)
• Experience in SAP (PM) and Prometheus highly regarded
