Electrical Maintenance Technician – Rolling Stock

About the role

Alstom is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join its rolling‑stock services team on the Sydney Metro North West Project. Based in Rouse Hill, you will carry out both preventative and corrective maintenance on Australia’s first driverless metro trains and associated depot infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to corrective maintenance tasks on the train fleet and depot equipment.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components, conduct troubleshooting, duty checks and inspections using examination sheets.
• Carry out component replacements, overhauls and modifications, including electro‑mechanical equipment changes on metro cars.
• Document work accurately in examination sheets, modification records and IT systems.
• Assist in preparing Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and safety management checks.
• Participate in first‑response actions for in‑service breakdowns and emergencies.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or electro‑technical) or equivalent trade qualification.
• Demonstrated competence in mechanical and electrical maintenance of rolling stock.
• Ability to work flexibly according to competence‑based skill sets.
• Commitment to safety procedures, work instructions and team directives.
