Electrical Design Engineer – Sydney CBD

About the role

Join JN’s Sydney CBD team as an Electrical Design Engineer, contributing to a wide range of building services projects. You will be involved in both concept and detailed design, producing calculations, reports and documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical design calculations, reports and drawings with limited supervision.
• Review and mentor junior engineers’ designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
• Integrate electrical design into the overall MEP documentation and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to collaborative, multi‑disciplinary solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Building Services sector.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new services.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Required skills

• Electrical power system design.
• Fire and smoke detection system design.
• Lighting design, including emergency lighting.
• Photovoltaic (PV) system design.
• Communications system design.
• Commercial fit‑out and residential electrical design (desirable).
