Electrical Design Engineer – Industrial EI&C

About the role

As our new Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll join the Industrial EI&C team at Aurecon, helping to design and deliver carbon‑neutral, sustainable major works. You will work on heavy industrial and process plant projects, applying Australian standards and interfacing directly with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for industrial projects.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects.
• Ensure compliance with key Australian Standards.
• Interact with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Utilise power systems software for design and modelling.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum 5 years post‑graduate experience in detailed design for industrial, process plant, energy, water, transport or mining projects.
• Applied knowledge of in‑plant MV/LV electrical distribution and motor control systems.
• Familiarity with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067 standards.
• Experience across concept, FEED and detailed design phases.
• Proficiency with power systems design and modelling tools such as PowerCad or ETAP.
• Strong ability to collaborate with project managers, discipline engineers and designers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
