Electrical Crane Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Crane Technician to join our Newcastle team at Konecranes. The role involves servicing, maintaining and modernising overhead cranes and lifting equipment across a range of industrial sites. You will work independently on‑site while being supported by a skilled technical network.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance on overhead cranes.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns, including emergency call‑outs.
• Carry out field modernisations, upgrades and new installations of crane control systems.
• Source and manage spare parts efficiently.
• Complete risk assessments before each task and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Communicate findings and repair solutions clearly to customers.
• Prepare accurate documentation and service reports.

Required profile

• Current Electrical Licence.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Working at Heights competency.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket – desirable.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Safety‑first mindset with methodical work approach.
• Good understanding of relevant Australian Standards.
