Early Childhood Assistant

About the role

Randwick Open Care for kids is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Assistant in Randwick, NSW. The role supports children's safety, wellbeing and learning through active supervision, daily care routines and play-based education, working alongside the Educational Leader and Room Leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain active supervision indoors and outdoors, during play, transitions, meals, rest and personal care, and follow headcount and attendance procedures
• Follow children's medical management plans, allergy arrangements and risk minimisation procedures, and report hazards and child safety concerns promptly
• Implement a play-based program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, prepare learning spaces and resources, and support language, literacy, numeracy, creativity, physical development and social interaction
• Support children's emotional regulation, self-help skills, meals, sleep and rest, and individual support strategies
• Communicate with families on arrival and departure, share accurate information about each child's day, and refer complex matters to the Room Leader or Centre Director
• Work cooperatively with educators, follow directions from the Centre Director and supervising educators, and complete induction, training and policy acknowledgements
• Keep the environment clean and safe, clean and sanitise toys and equipment, and complete opening, closing and room checklists
