Duty Manager - Ibis Styles Sydney Central

About the role

Ibis Styles Sydney Central, a 413-room hotel near Surry Hills and Oxford Street, is looking for a Duty Manager or an experienced Front Office Supervisor. The role covers the day-to-day front office operations and guest service, and suits someone seeking a change of pace or their next step.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Front Office team
• Supervise and mentor team members with strong leadership
• Keep the hotel running smoothly and efficiently in the absence of senior management, with high customer service standards
• Resolve guest complaints and challenges to reach a win-win outcome
• Process and assist with guest check-in and check-out
• Respond to and coordinate emergency situations

Required profile

• Relevant experience in the hotel industry
• Guest-focused approach, able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Leadership qualities and willingness to help colleagues
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication
• Flexible availability on a rotating roster including morning, evening and overnight shifts
• Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol, CPR and First Aid certificate

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Opera and Opera Cloud
• Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
