Domain Architect – Finance, Treasury & Wholesale Banking

About the role

ING is recruiting a Domain Architect focused on Finance, Treasury and Wholesale Banking, reporting directly to the Manager, Domain Architecture. This is a senior role leading the technology vision and delivering scalable, business-aligned architecture, driving solution design, defining roadmaps and keeping initiatives built on strong enterprise principles with minimal technical debt.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution design, delivering clear, scalable architectures aligned with business goals and enterprise standards.
• Define and enforce design principles, ensuring performance, security and stability while minimising technical debt.
• Own architecture roadmaps and support business unit planning, keeping current and future states visible with clear dependencies.
• Collaborate with architects, local and global stakeholders and delivery teams to align designs and present solutions.
• Drive early-stage estimations, risk identification and dependency management.
• Champion best practices, manage architecture governance and repositories, and continuously improve design quality, compliance and maintainability.

Required profile

• Proven experience of 7+ years delivering enterprise-grade solutions, ideally in financial services.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across business and IT.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with hands-on knowledge of development and architecture practices.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in solution architecture frameworks, cloud design and modern patterns.
• Deep understanding of non-functional requirements such as performance, resilience, security and scalability.
