Disability Support Worker (SIL) - Mooroolbark

About the role

Hearth Support Services, a registered NDIS provider in Victoria, is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers on a part-time basis to join a Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Mooroolbark. You will provide 2:1 support in a SIL environment, helping participants with daily living activities while delivering safe, person-centred care. The role suits people with experience supporting participants with complex behaviours of concern who want consistent shifts, including sleepovers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2:1 support in a SIL setting, assisting with daily living activities
• Implement behaviour support strategies and follow established routines
• Exercise sound judgement and escalate concerns appropriately when required
• Document support provided accurately

Required profile

• Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours of concern
• Experience with full personal care and medication administration
• Calm, resilient and able to stay professional in challenging situations
• Strong documentation, communication and decision-making skills
• Proactive, reliable and able to work collaboratively in a team
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings and nights on a rotating roster
• Previous SIL experience desirable but not essential
• Previous experience working with complex behaviours of concern (listed as essential)

Required skills

• Current Australian driver's licence and an insured vehicle
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)
• First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• Rights to work in Australia
