Disability Support Worker - SIL Hillsdale

About the role

Quality Health Care (QHC) is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to support four male residents in a Supported Independent Living home in Hillsdale. The role covers daily living support, medication administration and behaviour support, with permanent and casual opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living tasks and help them develop independent living skills
• Administer medication and keep accurate records
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies and restrictive practices
• Encourage healthy lifestyle choices, including nutrition and wellbeing goals
• Help residents access the community, make appointments and take part in social activities
• Manage complex behaviours using a trauma-informed approach
• Maintain professional boundaries and provide consistent support
• Complete progress notes, incident reports and other documentation as required

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting people with mental health conditions, trauma backgrounds and behaviours of concern
• Open availability across weekdays, weekends and overnight shifts
• Valid driver's licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and current First Aid and CPR

Required skills

• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and restrictive practices
• Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
• Resilience and confidence managing complex behaviours professionally
• Medication administration experience highly regarded
