Disability Support Practitioner (Casual)

About the role

Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) is recruiting a Disability Support Practitioner for its Lifestyles Home and Community team in Allambie Heights, NSW. The role provides one-on-one home and community support to clients aged 18-80, helping them live as independently as possible. It is a casual position with day shifts from 9:00/9:30 AM to 3:00/3:30 PM, based across the Northern Beaches region and involving travel to group homes. Availability for 4-5 days mid-week (Monday to Friday) is required.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities, including those with complex needs and behaviours of concern
• Assist with daily living skills, social engagement and community participation
• Provide personal care where required, manual handling and behaviour support strategies
• Offer medication support if trained, and 1:1 or small group support
• Facilitate activities and outings, follow individual support plans and document progress
• Work with families and allied health professionals

Required profile

• Commitment to person-centred care
• Current NSW driver's licence (minimum P2)
• Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
• Willingness to work a rotating roster
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check

Required skills

• First Aid and CPR certification (CPA will support or reimburse relevant compliance certifications where required)
