Director – Project Manager, Gas Turbine Facility Development

About the role

AECOM is seeking a senior leader to drive project delivery for gas turbine facility development across Australia. You will guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project management, governance and risk management for gas generation facilities, establishing delivery approaches that meet scope, schedule and budget.
• Partner with AECOM’s technical design and engineering teams, acting as Owner’s Engineer or Project Manager to oversee design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Develop client relationships as a trusted advisor, supporting business development and proposal activities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of project management experience on gas turbine or heavy‑industrial projects in Australia, covering all project stages.
• Deep knowledge of Australian construction regulations, standards and industry codes relevant to energy generation.
• Proven ability to lead diverse internal and external teams, negotiate with OEMs, contractors and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Project Management and delivery leadership for complex greenfield and brownfield gas projects.
• Risk assessment, governance and commercial judgement for design‑build cost control.
• Understanding of gas turbine engineering, OEM supply chains and procurement processes.
