Director of Finance

About the role

Pullman Cairns International is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the finance function of this iconic five‑star hotel. Reporting to the General Manager, you will act as a strategic business partner, ensuring financial stewardship, commercial performance and operational discipline across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance team, including Hotel Accountant, Purchasing Manager, Receivers, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Accounts Receivable.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the General Manager, Accor and ownership.
• Partner with department heads to analyse performance, drive revenue growth, cost control and profit optimisation.
• Develop forecasts, budgets and variance analyses, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Contribute to the hotel’s strategic planning and business decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance roles within the hospitality or similar high‑volume environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of driving profitability and operational efficiency.
