Director of Customer Acquisitions & Relationships

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to drive new business acquisition and relationship management for Judo’s SME banking division. The Director will identify high‑quality opportunities, originate deals and guide complex transactions from start to finish, helping Australian small‑and‑medium enterprises secure the funding they need.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, feeding high‑quality transactions into the pipeline.
• Originate deals in‑market and collaborate with internal teams to structure and close complex transactions end‑to‑end.
• Independently assess the financial needs of SME customers, applying pragmatic and commercially sound judgement.
• Monitor economic and industry trends and translate insights into value‑adding customer conversations.
• Build trusted, long‑term relationships with customers, brokers and business partners.
• Champion teamwork and collaborative problem‑solving across bankers, credit and support functions.
• Design and embed best‑practice relationship models that deliver strong customer outcomes and sustainable growth.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in business or commercial banking, credit, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to originate, structure and close complex financing deals.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to work autonomously.
• Deep understanding of SME financial needs and market dynamics in Australia.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with customers, brokers and internal partners.
