Digital Mobiles Project Manager

About the role

A large federal government agency is looking for a Digital Mobiles Project Manager to plan and manage ongoing projects based on Scaled Agile and mobile application migrations. The agency is developing its own internal IT capability as it moves away from a shared services IT model, with transformation programs such as migrating Salesforce LWC to React Native mobile apps. The position reports to the Program Director and is based in Melbourne CBD or Geelong, with work-from-home flexibility; interstate applications from SA, NSW, ACT and QLD are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical solution planning for new capabilities and features requested by the business
• Work with Architecture, specialist delivery teams within Tech Services and external vendors
• Develop the project schedule and maintain the plan
• Deliver the technical components of the project solution with internal and external teams
• Manage delivery partners, including internal teams, shared services partner IT teams and commercial vendors
• Work with the Product Owner and delivery teams on day-to-day delivery of core technology solution sprints
• Act as escalation point for technical issues and represent the project in ICT Change and Release Management meetings
• Manage cyber security assessments, penetration testing and go/no-go gates
• Apply DevOps principles to improve quality and reliability
• Present project plans, risks, issues and dependencies, and give weekly status reports

Required profile

• 8-10+ years of IT project management in Prince2, PMBOK, Agile, SAFe and hybrid models
• Deep expertise in digital and mobile technologies and integrating external systems into cloud-based business platforms
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and an industry-recognised PM qualification (SAFe preferred)
• Experience in federal or state government project management highly regarded
• Ability to clear federal background checks, including proof of Australian citizenship and baseline AGSVA clearance

Required skills

• React Native and/or Salesforce LWC highly regarded
• Prince2, PMBOK, Agile, SAFe
