Dietitian Clinical Lead (Food Services and Nutrition Support)

About the role

Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ HHS) is recruiting a Dietitian Clinical Lead (Food Services and Nutrition Support) in Brisbane. The role applies expert knowledge to develop clinical food service systems across the hospital and health service, aiming excellence in patient care, food service education and research. It also leads food service policy and standards development and acts as a 'Leader of Leaders' for children, young people and families.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical practice: independently apply advanced clinical expertise and specialised techniques to a complex caseload, give clinical direction and advice to less experienced dietitians, and deliver clinical food service consultancy to health practitioners and stakeholders on non-operational matters.
• Communication and teamwork: work with clinical service providers, service managers and team leaders to ensure early access to nutrition and dietetic services, appropriate discharge and good clinical outcomes.
• Leadership and service improvement: lead the development and delivery of competency training, skill development programs, pre-entry student placements and education programs for professionals, patients and carers; partner with the Dietetics leadership team to manage a diverse team, including resource allocation, supervision, performance appraisal and management.
