Diesel Mechanic (FIFO 3/1)

About the role

Nacap, a multi-disciplinary energy infrastructure constructor, is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its HE Machinery team in Dubbo, New South Wales. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will maintain and repair heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment so they are safe, reliable and ready for project deployment, while keeping downtime low and meeting safety and maintenance standards. The roster is FIFO 3/1, with work Monday to Saturday and occasionally on Sunday.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.
• Carry out daily inspections and ensure machinery is safe and ready for dispatch to project sites.
• Identify faults, complete repairs and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements and keep the workshop clean and organised.
• Work with the Workshop Manager and team to minimise downtime and meet operational deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic.
• Australian nationally recognised trade certificate in Diesel Mechanic.
• Current Multi-Combination (MC) driver's licence.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Construction Induction Card.
• Valid Australian driver's licence.
• Ability to work Monday to Saturday and occasionally on Sunday on a FIFO 3/1 roster.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency required to apply.

Required skills

• Heavy vehicle, mobile plant and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Desirable: experience in heavy equipment, construction or civil industries, and with fleet maintenance and equipment management systems.
• Desirable: current Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) licence and additional plant tickets (excavator, forklift, dogman, rigger, C2 crane).
