DevSecOps Intern (Energy Transition) - Nov/Dec 2026 Intake

About the role

GE Vernova's Grid Software business is looking for a high-achieving student to join its team at the intersection of cyber security, software engineering and critical energy infrastructure. You will support the deployment and security of platforms that manage the modern digital electricity grid, such as DERMS, which help utilities integrate renewables, battery storage and distributed resources. The position is remote.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate cyber security into CI/CD pipelines and software lifecycles
• Support the configuration and implementation of utility-grade software
• Work alongside expert engineers to identify risks and automate operational efficiency
• Gain hands-on exposure to how software platforms interact with Operational Technology (OT) and IT environments

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Engineering or IT, with a minimum 75% WAM; double-degree students in these fields are also considered
• Available for a minimum of 6 months, working 3 days per week during the semester or 5 days per week during semester breaks
• Previous cyber security vacation work or internship in a utility, electricity, energy or critical-infrastructure organisation is advantageous
• Strong interest in DevSecOps, DERMS and grid-management technology

Required skills

• Bonus points for Git, CI/CD, Python/Bash, Docker/Kubernetes or cloud platforms
• Bonus points for knowledge of OT/ICS security or SCADA systems
