DevSecOps Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia's Mission Software Systems team is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer in Melbourne. You will embed security, automation and reliability across the software delivery lifecycle, working with engineering, security and platform teams to build secure, scalable solutions for mission-critical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance secure CI/CD pipelines with security controls integrated throughout development and deployment.
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud specialists and cyber security teams to improve platform reliability, automate operations and strengthen security.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native environments and security tooling.
• Support continuous improvement by optimising automation, monitoring, vulnerability management and DevSecOps practices.

Required profile

• Experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• Ability to balance security, operational efficiency and delivery outcomes in complex environments.
• Well-developed communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, security and business stakeholders.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV-1 security clearance; the role may be subject to ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Cloud technologies, preferably Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep or CloudFormation.
• Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting with Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Advantageous: Zero Trust, SAST/DAST, secret scanning, dependency management, container security, Agile delivery and relevant certifications.
