DevOps Engineer

About the role

Praetorian Aeronautics is looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure behind its autonomous defence systems. You will own the pipelines, networks and servers that move Rust and Python software from commit to field‑ready hardware across labs, production lines and edge environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software deployed to embedded and on‑prem hardware.
• Design, deploy and manage company infrastructure—including servers, networks and internal tooling—using infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management.
• Improve software and firmware loading, versioning and traceability on hardware throughout manufacturing and production.
• Set up monitoring, logging and observability across lab, production and field systems.
• Develop secure, compliant infrastructure for edge and air‑gapped environments.
• Identify bottlenecks in build and ship processes and drive cross‑team improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with on‑prem or edge infrastructure, comfortable working close to hardware.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an AGSVA security clearance.

Required skills

• Linux systems administration and networking.
• Containerisation tools such as Docker or Podman.
• Configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Proficiency with Rust or Python.
