Data Management Officer

About the role

The Data Management Officer provides document and data management services across Saab programmes and projects, working closely with project and engineering teams to ensure data, documentation and media are accurately catalogued, securely stored and readily retrievable.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register, control and distribute customer and supplier documentation, data and media.
• Manage the distribution of controlled documentation, data and media and handle Defence Safe Hand items.
• File, index and retrieve records to support business and project requirements.
• Prepare, register and dispatch documentation, data and media for delivery or archiving.
• Track and report approved configuration changes and support software releases with status reports and release documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ defence industry experience in a project‑based or product engineering environment.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
• Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal customers.

Required skills

• High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using data‑management databases to register, control and distribute data, documents and media.
• Knowledge of Defence Safe Hand practices.
