Data Engineer

About the role

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its Data & AI practice. You will design, build and optimise modern cloud data platforms on Microsoft Azure and Fabric, helping enterprise customers unlock value from data through analytics, reporting and AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Python/PySpark.
• Build and maintain data platforms with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse and OneLake solutions.
• Implement data integration across cloud and on‑premises sources, and optimise data models for analytics and AI.
• Ensure data quality, governance and security using tools such as Microsoft Purview.
• Monitor platform performance, cost efficiency and support CI/CD automation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing or cloud data platform development.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving skills and experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure services: Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, SQL, Databricks, DevOps.
• Microsoft Fabric components: Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Power BI.
• SQL development, data modelling (star/snowflake schemas), Python, PySpark.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks Lakehouse architecture and data governance solutions.
• Knowledge of Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, vector databases and RAG concepts (advantageous).
