About the role

Bannister Downs is a vertically integrated dairy business producing milk and products for Australian and overseas markets. It is based in Northcliffe, Western Australia, about 350 km south of Perth, and operates across several farming sites in the south west of the state, including conventional and robotic dairy systems. It is looking for a full-time Dairy Cattle Farmer.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee dairy herd management to a high standard, including calf rearing
• Manage budgeting requirements and Quality Assurance Systems
• Lead the team effectively within the organisation
• Organise farming operations and routines such as catching, drenching and milking livestock, sterilising machines, and collecting, grading and packaging produce
• Organise the sale, purchase and transportation of livestock and produce
• Breed and raise livestock
• Operate and manage the workplace safely

Required profile

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification; at least 5 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the formal qualification
• Relevant experience may also be required
• Current driver's licence
• AI Technician Certificate
