Cyber Security Analyst (Remote – Australia)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Cyber Security Analyst to join our remote security team in Australia. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience protecting business systems, monitoring security events, and responding to threats while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, logs and system activity to detect potential threats.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation.
• Monitor network, endpoint, cloud and application security.
• Assist with security audits, compliance reviews and risk assessments.
• Analyze events using SIEM and other monitoring tools.
• Maintain firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection and access controls.
• Document incidents, findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with IT teams to improve infrastructure security.
• Support identity and access management processes.
• Participate in security awareness initiatives.
• Help maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking and operating systems.
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection and access control.
• Knowledge of common threats such as phishing, malware and ransomware.
• Awareness of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) is a plus.
