Customer & Stakeholder Advisor

About the role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral and Johnson Controls in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), manages the Harbour Zone's routine maintenance, strategic enhancements and special projects. As Customer & Stakeholder Advisor in the Rockdale office, you will support the Customer & Stakeholder Manager in building relationships with the community and stakeholders and meeting notification and consultation obligations. The role is frontline in managing the organisation's reputation and driving customer satisfaction. It is a 12-month fixed-term position with the potential to extend.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact and liaison with the community, stakeholders and customers about planned works.
• Run community, stakeholder and customer consultations with the Customer & Stakeholder Manager.
• Take part in door-knocks and meetings with residents, customers and stakeholders.
• Organise distribution of collateral and information by traditional and digital channels.
• Work with the Fault Management Centre and councils on works such as vegetation, graffiti and litter control.
• Coordinate with the Fault Management Centre on trimming vegetation that blocks traffic lights, VMS and other assets, including door-knocking and letter drops on private land.
• Draft community engagement plans and public-facing collateral and seek approval from the manager.
• Maintain consultation records and close out interactions.
• Provide information to the manager so TfNSW can handle ministerial briefings, media and correspondence.
• Support research and survey programs and manage the weekly milestone reporting.
• Manage the 1800 community line and inbox, escalating issues as appropriate.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Marketing, Communication or Journalism (desirable).
• IAP2 certificate (desirable).
• Current driver's licence.
• Exposure to the building, construction or engineering sectors.
• Experience in community relations and stakeholder engagement.
• Highly organised, methodical, with excellent attention to detail and proven ability to engage diverse people.
