Customer Sales and Retention Specialist - Outbound

About the role

ahm, part of Medibank, is looking for confident communicators to join its Outbound team. As a Customer Sales and Retention Specialist, you will proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, resolve member enquiries and underlying issues, and help them make informed decisions about their health cover. The position is full-time, based in the East Coast area within 100 km of an ahm or Medibank office, with a start date of Monday 16 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers through outbound conversations to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities to retain members and grow the member base
• Build rapport and trust with a diverse range of customers
• Understand member needs through effective questioning and offer tailored solutions
• Handle objections and concerns confidently
• Deliver exceptional member experiences while meeting retention and sales objectives
• Work collaboratively within a supportive team and adapt to evolving outbound processes and products

Required profile

• Experience in sales or retention is essential; experience in customer service, fundraising, hospitality, retail or contact centres is highly regarded but not essential
• Enjoys talking to customers and building relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Resilient, persistent and able to stay motivated despite challenges and objections
• Curious about customer needs and open to feedback and continuous improvement
