Crew Member – Sales and Food Preparation

About the role

Guzman Y Gomez is looking for a customer-focused person who loves Mexican food and is passionate about food and customer service. The role reports to the Restaurant Manager and covers both sales and food preparation (cook). The restaurant is franchised by OTR Group.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pleasant and prompt service to customers
• Prepare menu items according to the procedures and processes outlined by the restaurant
• Maintain complete knowledge of the menu, ingredients and procedures so that high-quality Mexican products are delivered quickly

Required profile

• Advanced English skills (if non-native)
• Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced environment
• Outgoing, approachable, patient and eager to help customers
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Previous customer service or food preparation experience is regarded but not essential; attitude is key

Required skills

• RSA certificate
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale and EFTPOS machine operation
• General understanding of Australian currency, payment methods and loyalty cards
• Ability to keep a clean, tidy and organised workstation
