Country Manager – Fintech SME Loans Launch in Australia

About the role

We are a fast‑growing fintech specialising in SME working‑capital solutions and are entering the Australian market. We are seeking a hands‑on Country Manager / Managing Director to lead the market entry, build the initial team and establish a strong presence in the SME lending space.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the go‑to‑market strategy, including product, pricing, distribution and broker channel development.
• Identify market gaps and differentiate the offering in a competitive landscape.
• Recruit, onboard and develop the first sales, credit, operations and collections team.
• Create a high‑performance culture focused on speed, service and scalability.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership while building structures for future growth.
• Coordinate closely with global leadership to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in SME business‑loan lending, preferably within a start‑up or high‑growth environment.
• Deep understanding of Australian broker channels, credit appetite and lending dynamics.
• Proven track record of launching, scaling or transforming a lending or fintech operation.
• Strong commercial acumen with full P&L ownership and portfolio performance responsibility.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with international teams.
