Cost Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cost Controller to join the Finance team of a major energy organisation in Perth. Reporting to the Senior Cost Controller, you will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and external vendors to manage purchase orders, verify invoices and support financial reporting for a range of operational projects.

Key responsibilities

• Raise, manage and close purchase requisitions and purchase orders for major operational vendors.
• Verify invoice claims, supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor purchase order expenditure, track commitments, actual spend and forecast costs.
• Undertake daily cost tracking for operational scopes and campaigns.
• Maintain accurate cost records, WMS master data and cost settlements.
• Provide cost information for budgeting, forecasting and annual vendor business planning.
• Support audit activities and ensure compliance with accounting, tax and procurement requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost‑control and procure‑to‑pay processes.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in cost control, project controls, commercial or financial roles.
• Background in oil & gas, mining or broader resources sector.
• Strong knowledge of procure‑to‑pay processes and operational cost tracking.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with Power Query capability.
• A degree or diploma in engineering, commerce, finance or related discipline.
