Cost Control Lead

About the role

The Cost Control Lead will drive cost management across a large‑scale capital works portfolio, providing strategic insights and ensuring robust cost controls, accurate forecasting and effective reporting throughout project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Cost Controllers supporting a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
• Oversee portfolio‑wide cost control, forecasting, budgeting and reporting activities.
• Develop and maintain cost management processes, systems and governance frameworks.
• Analyse cost performance, identify trends and provide proactive recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead month‑end reporting and portfolio performance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven project controls or cost management professional with experience on large capital programmes in infrastructure, utilities, engineering, defence, transport, mining or construction.
• Relevant qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business, Project Controls or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in cost control, commercial management or portfolio reporting.
• Advanced analytical and financial reporting capabilities.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop teams.

Required skills

• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with project controls and reporting systems.
