About the role

MacDonnell Regional Council is recruiting a Coordinator Home Care - Community in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. The position is full-time and fixed-term until 30 June 2027, with the potential for extension. It suits an experienced aged care professional who enjoys remote travel and working with a diverse team to deliver quality service.

The role can be town-based, with about 60-70% of the time spent in the community, or community-based where housing is provided to non-local applicants. Understanding Aboriginal culture, or a willingness to learn it, is essential because 78% of the council's workforce is Aboriginal.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate aged care services across assigned council locations, ensuring service continuity, continuous improvement and legislative compliance.
• Ensure services are delivered in a culturally appropriate way, in line with community development principles, and commit to developing corporate knowledge.
• Build and maintain partnerships with staff, clients, families and health professionals to identify client needs and make recommendations within a consumer-directed care model.

Required profile

• Valid Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work visa).
• Experience in aged care, stakeholder engagement, problem solving and aged care standards.
• Adaptable, collaborative and passionate about making a difference.

What we offer

• Salary starting at $92,902 per annum.
