Contaminated Land Consultant

About the role

Aurecon’s Environment and Planning team is seeking a Contaminated Land Consultant to join its Perth office. You will work on a variety of projects across Western Australia, delivering high‑quality contaminated‑land investigations and supporting client outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan sampling designs and coordinate field programmes.
• Lead field work for soil, groundwater and surface‑water sampling, including drilling supervision, test pitting and well installation.
• Coach and mentor peers and field staff.
• Provide data‑gap assessments and contaminated‑land investigations in line with ASC NEPM requirements.
• Develop technical reports to a high editorial standard and collaborate to meet client expectations.
• Support proposal development and project management for the contaminated‑land team.

Required profile

• Degree in environmental engineering or a related science discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience in contaminated‑land or groundwater investigations.
• Track record on contaminated sites, preferably in the resources sector or defence.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
• Detailed knowledge of the Contaminated Sites Act 2003, NEPM and relevant WA legislation.
• Desire to deliver excellent client experiences and provide field leadership.
• Current driver’s licence; ADF baseline security clearance is desirable but not essential.
