Consultant Palliative Care Physician

About the role

This position is a senior Consultant Palliative Care Physician within a leading regional tertiary health service in Victoria. You will deliver patient‑centred palliative care across inpatient and community settings, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist palliative medicine services to patients with life‑limiting illnesses in both hospital and community environments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, family meetings and integrated oncology/haematology pathways.
• Support education, mentoring, and clinical governance activities for junior staff and allied health professionals.
• Lead service development, quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical research.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist registration in Palliative Medicine.
• Extensive experience in inpatient and community palliative care.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with oncology, haematology, general medicine and community providers.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship and continuous service improvement.
