Construction Repair Coordinator

About the role

Ethos Building is offering a career path opportunity in its Desktop Solutions team in Melbourne as a Construction Repair Coordinator. The role reports to the Operations Manager – Construction & Estimating and covers commercial and domestic building insurance rectification projects, with support from the wider team including Claims, Construction Supervisors and Estimators.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of claim repairs on a desktop basis
• Oversee budget cost planning, issue purchase orders, forecast costs and keep projects within budget and timeline
• Review and interpret drawings and specifications
• Manage several projects at once across commercial and domestic sectors, including building and restoration reinstatement
• Use the job management software to give regular, concise updates to the management team
• Ensure a Safe Work Method Statement is in place for all high-risk activities under the Ethos SWMS policy
• Lead meetings with key stakeholders and build relationships with customers and trade contractors
• Promote cost-saving techniques and complete projects efficiently and profitably
• Take part in after-hours make-safe work on a roster basis with Construction Supervisors and Repair Coordinators

• Good computer literacy
• Strong communication, organisational and attention-to-detail skills
• Proactive attitude with initiative, drive and leadership
• Commitment to safety and sound knowledge of occupational health and safety policies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritise a busy workload and manage a diary
• Team player willing to engage with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in negotiating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
