Construction Manager – Dams (Two-year contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the design and construction of a significant dam improvement project in the Toowoomba region, Queensland. This is a two‑year fixed‑term position based on‑site, overseeing embankment crest raising, spillway works and associated infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Site Representative of the Design Partner within the alliance, ensuring works comply with design intent and technical specifications.
• Review completed works and verify conformity with design documents.
• Respond to contractor design queries, coordinate design changes and site adaptations.
• Collaborate with the contractor to implement designs accurately on‑site.
• Support construction methods decisions where design considerations intersect.
• Lead a team of at least three construction phase supervision staff covering structural, geotechnical and geological aspects.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in embankment dam construction, design or related civil infrastructure.
• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural or Dam Engineering.
• Extensive on‑site experience managing large‑scale dam projects.
• Proven ability to work within an alliance or multi‑disciplinary team.
