Construction Contracts Manager

About the role

Hindmarsh is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to lead commercial outcomes across large‑scale residential, mixed‑use and commercial projects. As the commercial lead, you will partner with the Project Manager and site team to optimise performance, manage risk and ensure successful delivery from procurement to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead head contract and subcontract administration throughout all project phases.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies and manage major trade packages.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Handle client and subcontractor claims, variations and extensions of time.
• Monitor financial performance, forecast cash flow and produce cost reports.
• Prepare and present commercial reports to project and senior leadership.
• Support delivery teams with commercial strategy and decision‑making.
• Conduct contract reviews, compliance checks and project audits.
• Mentor Contract Administrators and emerging commercial professionals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Significant commercial construction experience, preferably within a head‑contractor environment.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale residential, mixed‑use or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract law principles, Security of Payment legislation and commercial risk management.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CHEOPS construction software.
• Proficiency with Aconex construction software.
