Compliance Senior Manager

About the role

Bankwest Compliance, part of CommBank's Retail Banking Services (RBS) Compliance team, is looking for a Senior Manager in Perth. Reporting to the Group Compliance function and aligned with the Bankwest Risk Management function, the role sits at the intersection of regulation, innovation and customer experience as Bankwest moves toward being Australia's favourite digital bank. The Senior Manager acts as a trusted advisor, giving effective and independent compliance advice on regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on regulatory obligations including the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, NCCP Act, ePayments Code and Banking Code of Practice, and other legislative obligations applicable to Bankwest.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially sound risk outcomes, often within strategic change initiatives and customer communication campaigns.
• Improve the compliance risk profile through project delivery and high-quality stakeholder management.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across Perth and Sydney and contribute to high-profile initiatives affecting how Bankwest delivers safe, compliant and customer-focused banking.
• Deliver regular progress reports and ad hoc analysis as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, risk, legal and/or regulatory advisory within financial services, with strong knowledge of regulatory obligations and compliance risk management frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Proactive mindset, enterprise-level approach to compliance and passion for making a difference.
• Critical thinking and sound judgement, able to identify risks, dependencies and opportunities while balancing customer, commercial and regulatory considerations.
