Community Support Worker (Casual) - Townsville

About the role

Centacare North Queensland is looking for compassionate and reliable Community Support Workers to join its Disability Services team in Townsville. You will work alongside people with disability to support their independence, build their confidence, help them achieve personal goals and take part in their community. This is a risk-assessed role and is subject to the NDIS worker 'no card', 'no start' rule.

Key responsibilities

• Support participants to achieve their individual goals
• Assist with community access, social activities and appointments
• Encourage independence and skill development
• Provide personal care and daily living support
• Help with meal preparation, domestic tasks and household activities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Work with participants, families and support networks

Required profile

• Experience in disability, community services, aged care or a related field
• Passionate about supporting others and committed to person-centred care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current driver's licence
• Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain it
• Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or ability to obtain it before starting
• Appropriate work rights in Australia
