Community Mental Health Clinician - Older Adults (Mornington Peninsula)

About the role

Peninsula Health is recruiting a Community Mental Health Clinician for its Older Adult CMHT on the Mornington Peninsula. This is a fixed-term full-time or part-time position (0.8 EFT) running until 28 February 2027, within the specialist multi-disciplinary Older Adult Mental Health Team that supports older people with severe and persistent mental health disorders and their carers. The role involves planning, evaluating and reviewing care, face-to-face assessments and recovery care plans, with frequent liaison with external services and the internal team.

Required profile

• Qualification as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with relevant APHRA registration; RPNs only need a postgraduate mental health qualification or a specialist undergraduate mental health program.
• Proven ability to manage clients with major mental health illness, including assessment, crisis intervention and recovery frameworks.
• Extensive mental health experience, including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care.
• Current Victorian driver's licence.
• Recommended to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and meet the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.

The role falls under classification RPN Grade 3 Year 1-4, Occupational Therapist Grade 3 Year 1-4, Social Worker Grade 3 Year 1-4 or Psychologist Grade 2 Year 1-4, depending on profession. Salary is set by the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028, with sub-grading based on years of experience.
