Communications Manager, Hardware, AI & Business

About the role

Meta is seeking a senior Communications Manager to shape and tell the story of its Reality Labs hardware, AI products and business services across Australia. The role sits at the intersection of consumer, business and policy communications, reporting to the Communications Director, Australia, Japan and Korea.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Australian communications strategy for Reality Labs and wearables, leading product launches, storytelling and media experiences.
• Anticipate and manage policy, privacy and safety issues for AI‑enabled devices in partnership with Policy and Legal.
• Build credibility with tech, consumer and lifestyle media, creators and reviewers, and develop spokesperson readiness.
• Lead local communications for Meta AI, translating complex topics for Australian audiences and supporting regulatory narratives.
• Partner with the Global Business Group to create narratives for advertisers, SMBs and the creator economy.
• Manage rapid‑response on reputational incidents, maintain issue playbooks and act as primary media contact.
• Oversee agency and vendor relationships, budgets and measurement, and design social‑first communications using Meta’s owned channels.

Required profile

• 12+ years of communications experience spanning technology, policy and business, with a proven track record of independent strategy leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in both consumer/product and policy/public‑affairs communications.
• Strong media relations with established relationships across Australian tech, business, consumer and policy outlets.
• Experience acting as a spokesperson and preparing senior leaders for high‑profile media engagements.
• Ability to prioritize competing workstreams in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Expertise in social media and creator strategy, using owned channels as core communication tools.
• Proven experience managing PR agencies and vendor partners, including budgeting and quality control.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating complex technology topics.
