Commis Chef – Breakfast Shifts

About the role

The Avani Cypress Lakes Resort and Avani Well are seeking a reliable Commis Chef to support breakfast service on a casual basis. You will help deliver high‑quality dishes and ensure a smooth, enjoyable dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a high‑quality breakfast menu during service hours.
• Handle opening preparation, station setup, and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards.
• Assist in developing menu items and recipes and support training of junior kitchen staff.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a similar hotel or high‑volume kitchen role.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Flexible availability, including weekends, and reliable transport.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Understanding of HACCP principles.
• Knowledge of OH&S and kitchen hygiene standards.
