Facilities Manager

About the role

The AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead all facilities operations on a full‑time basis. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of building systems, common areas and resort facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance programmes and perform hands‑on repairs across the property.
• Manage contractors for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire, security, pest control, cleaning and other essential services.
• Oversee the upkeep of common areas, gardens and grounds, and coordinate maintenance schedules, quotes and asset plans.
• Liaise with Body Corporate, owners, residents and hotel management on property matters.
• Assist with budgeting, invoice approvals and capital expenditure projects while ensuring WHS and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on maintenance or facilities management experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, compliance requirements and property maintenance best practices.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and develop team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional presentation.

Required skills

• MS Office (Excel, Word, reporting tools).
• Practical skills in painting, plastering, carpentry and general building repairs.
