Commercial & Projects Lawyer (2-4 PQE)

About the role

Partners Joel Von Thein and Nicholas Fletcher are looking for a lawyer to join their growing team in Sydney. The practice covers commercial transactions and infrastructure matters, advising owners and operators of major transport, logistics and strategic assets such as airports, rail, ports and telecommunications networks. It is described as non-hierarchical, collegiate and flexible.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a diverse range of commercial transactions, procurement, project delivery and regulatory matters across airports, rail, ports, telecommunications, logistics and digital infrastructure.
• Handle matters from acquisitions and commercial structuring through to contract negotiation, project delivery, operational issues and long-term asset management.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver an integrated, full-service offering to clients.
• Occasionally take part in client secondments, gaining in-house commercial experience with major organisations.

Required profile

• 2-4 years' post-admission experience in a leading commercial law firm.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Experience in commercial transactions, procurement, front-end projects, corporate, property or another transactional practice.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional client service.
• Genuine interest in developing a long-term practice advising owners and operators of major transport, logistics and strategic assets.
